The Monday Peeve — Donald Trump

I wasn’t going to post a response to Paula Light’s Monday Peeve prompt today because I got a really good night’s sleep last night and I wasn’t really pissed off about anything in particular.

And then I saw this headline in my morning paper.6F041C6D-D617-40B4-9BAD-A6BDB9088940The audacity of Donald Trump is stunning.
3E3A82D8-70A2-49B8-8869-358ABA4E6340In an interview with Chris Wallace on “Fox News Sunday,” Trump refused to publicly commit to accepting the results of the upcoming White House election. He scoffed at the polls showing him lagging behind Democratic candidate Joe Biden, saying it’s too early to make such an ironclad guarantee. “I have to see. Look, I have to see. No, I’m not going to just say yes. I’m not going to say no, and I didn’t last time either.”

Well, there went my decent mood. That the sitting President of the United States could equivocate about accepting the results of the upcoming presidential election was enough to send me over the edge. If the President can’t commit to abiding by the outcome of an election and to a peaceful transfer of power if he loses, democracy in America is kaput.

If Trump loses the support of FOX News, there will be nothing but fake news left for him.

I think he still has Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson, Laura Ingraham, Jeanine Pirro, and the Fox & Friends crew solidly behind him.

No one was talking about Chris Wallace, although I am disappointed that Wallace didn’t ask Trump about why he hasn’t done anything with respect to Putin’s bounty on American soldiers in Afghanistan. And don’t say that fake news.

Even though the election is less than four months away, he’ll still be president for six more months from now. Assuming he loses, imagine how much more damage he can do in those last 2 1/2 months between the election and the inauguration of Biden.

What’s the alternative? If Biden wins you will not know who is at the helm. “The communists will all be whispering in his ear to say this, do that next “they” will start fighting with each other or bump him off till your good ole Nance is president. Yuk!

Are you really going to vote for Biden?

If not, serious question who would you love to see as a President?

It’s either Biden or Trump and there is no way I’d vote for Trump, who has been selling out our country and destroying our democracy for the past four years. Biden would not have been my first choice, but right now he’s our only choice and our last hope.

Are you really going to vote for Trump?

Nancy would become President if both Trump and Pence resigned or died naturally (or otherwise met their demise) now. We don’t know whether or not Nancy Pelosy will continue in office as a representative and as Speaker of the House after the next election. But, if Biden is elected (or really whichever of the two — Trump or Biden — is elected… I’m not taking Kanye seriously as a possible winner), it will have been very important who the president-elect chose to run with him. Right now, many people are waiting in anticipation.

Yes. It’s a fact that Nancy is the Speaker of the House. That is a current fact. She may or may not be reelected. I was responding to the woman who calls herself or her site MYFOREVER77. MYFOREVER77 mentioned Nancy Pelosi on July 21, 2020 at 7:34 am (above).

My advice to those who want the best for Americans but do not want to lose their “popularity” or liberal friends, just smile at them when you go privately in to vote for Trump and come out praising Biden. You guys are good at that fake stuff anyway.

I’ve just finished Mary Trump’s book- I think it puts forward a strong case that Twiter’s sickness isn’t that of the mind- it’s a corruption of character. At some point you might want to read it. But I’m like you, I read enough to keep up what’s going on, but as for the anecdotes. I just can’t stomach anymore.

I responded to this yesterday but am finding my comments don’t show up, even after repeatedly putting in all my info, again.  So maybe you will get this.  I felt exactly the same way.  I find it curious that negative responses are usually headed with religious icons.  But that’s America.  I also find it mind boggling anyone could actually read or listen to him and think this is how a president should act.

Yes, I did say that. But he’s not a social liberal. He has no real ideology or morals and is just doing what he thinks his base wants from him, and evangelicals and the religious right make up a large portion of his base. He’s sold his soul (if he even has one) to get re-elected.

Trump’s red caps should read MRGA, for Make Russia Great Again, because that is what he’s been doing for the past for years: destroying America, much to Putin’s delight. If Trump is re-elected, the United States of America will become the American Federation of Russia. Trump is the most corrupt, incompetent, inept president in modern U.S. history and his bungling of dealing with the coronavirus is killing Americans every day. He’s destroying the water we drink and the air we breathe and all he cares about are his wealthy friends. He’s not serving the citizens of this country. He’s serving only his unenlightened self-interests. He’s despicable. I don’t understand how any thinking, compassionate, empathetic person can support a man who doesn’t think and has neither compassion nor empathy.

I consider myself well-informed and capable of critical thinking. Perhaps you should stop watching Fox News and open your eyes and see who Trump is: someone who serves himself and his self-interests, rather than those of the majority of citizens he’s supposed to serve.

Clearly, at this point, like most rabid Trump supporters, you turn a blind eye to his incompetence and all the damage he’s doing to our country. And there’s nothing you can do that will change my opinion. So rather than implying that I’m uninformed or brainwashed by the “mainstream” media, why don’t we just agree to disagree and call it a day. Otherwise, things could get nasty.
