“We’re nearly there,” Rick said. He had sent her a text message earlier telling her he’d pick her up in half an hour. Anita texted back asking where he was taking her and he said that it was a surprise. “Dress up,” he added.
Anita was giddy with anticipation. She had no idea where he was going to take her but she decided to adorn herself with some of her best jewelry and a lovely dress.
Once Rick picked her up, he drove toward the center of town. “Where are we going, Rick?” Anita asked as he started looking for a place to park.
Rick smiled, “We’re going dancing, baby. And then you’ll see how the magic‘s in the music and the music’s in me.”
Written for Paula Light’s Thursday Inspiration prompt, where the theme in “magic.” Also for these daily prompts: Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (nearly), Jibber Jabber (sent), Word of the Day Challenge (giddy), Your Daily Word Prompt (adorn), The Daily Spur (self), Ragtag Daily Prompt (dancing).
