So Sadje, at Keep It Alive, was nominated for the Real Neat Blog Award, so congratulations, Sadje. She then nominated my blog, along with those of a number of other bloggers, for the award, so thank you Sadje. Then she asked some questions of those she nominated, and here they are, along with my answers.
What do you think is your biggest achievement in life?
I suppose to have managed to get to the point of being able to retire and to be financially set enough that money matters are not a constant, nagging, everyday concern.
What sort of books you like to read?
Suspense, mystery, and detective novels mostly. Some science fiction and horror, although not as much as when I was younger.
Are you a collector?
No, I don’t have any formal collections of anything.
What one activity do you miss most, which you haven’t been able to do due to the lockdown?
As an empty-nester, I’d say it’s not being able to spend much face-to-face time with my adult children.
Are you a people’s person or a happy to be with yourself kind?
These days I’m more of a happy to be by myself kind.
Do you play any games on your phone or computer?
I play solitaire on my iPhone. A lot!
Do you like getting awards on your blog?
Mine is an award-free blog. That said, I do appreciate the recognition when someone nominates my blog for an award and I do enjoy answering questions. But honestly, folks, there are so many blog awards floating around that they lose their significance. Reading, liking, and commenting on my posts is reward enough for me.
Did I mention that another blogger that Sadje nominated for the Real Neat Blog Award was Di, at Pensitivity101? Congrats, Di. Di didn’t actually nominate my blog for that award, but she did pose a series of questions for anyone who would like to answer her set of questions. Since I would like to answer them, here they are.
Do you participate in any challenges, and if so, which do you prefer?
Yes. I try to respond in a single post to up to six daily one-word prompts, including my own, as well as a few weekly photo prompts, some music prompts, and some flash fiction prompts.
If you could start a New Award, what would you call it?
The Oh My God Not Another Freakin’ Blogging Award Award.
Do you aim for your blog to attract a single audience or a variety?
I don’t aim for any particular audience. Just those who want to read an excellent blog about this, that, and the other.
When choosing to follow a blogger, what attracts you to their blog?
Well written, articulate post that are interesting, intriguing, and witty. You know, just like my posts. 😉
Do you prefer to read short or long posts, stories, or humor?
I prefer shorter posts, say 500 words or fewer, because of my short attention span. When it blog posts, I believe in word quality over word quantity.
Do you like to use graphics in your own posts?
I generally post a photo or image (mostly one, but sometimes more) with each post.
Have any posts by a fellow blogger had an emotional effect on you?
To one degree or another, they all do. Some are witty, some are poignant, some are inspiring, and some are simply well told tales.
If anyone else wants to take a shot at responding to Sadje’s and/or Di’s questions, go for it.
