Weekend Writing Prompt — Puzzled

Mature Woman with Book and PenShe asked, “What’s a six letter word for astronomical alignment that starts with S?”

“Syzyrgy,” I responded.

“Spell it,” she said.

“Bullshit!” she said.

“Seriously,” I said. “Google it.”

That is a great use of the word. I read yours, then looked it up, now unless I copy yours I can’t think of a thing! I’m sure I will come up with something without copying yours.

At the risk of sounding uncultured, I’ve done thousands of horoscopes and NEVER did I use this word. An opposition is called an opposition. Really. Maybe they used this word a few hundred years ago, but it is NOT used now. Ever.

I’d never heard of the word either, so I had to Google it and it’s defined as “either of the two positions (conjunction or opposition) of a celestial body when sun, earth, and the body lie in a straight line.” As someone commented, it’s a great word to know if you’re playing Scrabble.
