Ingesting disinfectant is not very smart.
Written for today’s Six Word Story Prompt from Shweta Suresh. The word is “smart.”
The image at the top of this post was today’s lead editorial in my local newspaper. Below is something that I hope will give you a bit of a smile.
For this year’s A to Z Challenge I’m going to attempt to post an old saying or adage each day of the month of April (except for Sundays). I’m going through the alphabet, with the first letter of the adage beginning with the first letter of the alphabet (A) and continuing for 26 adages in alphabetical order until I get through the entire alphabet by April 30 — from A to Z.
I don’t know if it can be done, but I’m going to give it the old college try. Here’s my April 25th adage and it starts with the letter V.
Vision without action is a daydream. Action without vision is a nightmare.
Ever since his arrival in the Oval Office, his prevalent behaviors have devalued the office of the president. Few people feel ambivalent when it comes to the nature of the man, and anyone who values the survival of the American republic and who takes the time to objectively evaluate the damage he has done — and is continuing to do — knows that the only way to bring about a revival of the country we once cherished is to act decisively to ensure his removal from office at the election in November.
My fear, however, is that, even though his overall approval rating is low, he and his rabid loyalists will believe his election loss to be invalid and will rise up against his rivals, and create an upheaval of our democracy so deep into the valley of medieval chaos that it will never be restored.
I hope I’m wrong.
Written for today’s Stream of Consciousness Saturday prompt from Linda G. Hill. Our assignment is to “find a word that starts with ‘val,’ or if you’re not doing the A to Z Challenge, find a word that just has ‘val’ in it, and use that word any way you’d like.” I am doing the A to Z Challenge, but I have found words that both start with “val,” but also contain “val” in them.
Welcome to April 25, 2020 and to Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (aka, FOWC). It’s designed to fill the void after WordPress bailed on its daily one-word prompt.
I will be posting each day’s word just after midnight Pacific Time (US).
Today’s word is “candid.”
Write a post using that word. It can be prose, poetry, fiction, non-fiction. It can be any length. It can be just a picture or a drawing if you want. No holds barred, so to speak.
Once you are done, tag your post with #FOWC and create a pingback to this post if you are on WordPress. Or you can simply include a link to your post in the comments.
The issue with pingbacks not showing up seems to have been resolved, but you might check to confirm that your pingback is there. If not, please manually add your link in the comments.
And be sure to read the posts of other bloggers who respond to this prompt. You will marvel at their creativity.
