Weekend Writing Prompt — Wanderlust

6FF29E89-3087-4D4C-83A7-7A00F7B99A1EI look up at the night sky and see the full moon.

It triggers a sense of wonder at the vastness of the universe.

Are we Earthly humans alone among those who appreciate its splendor?

Am I alone in my wanderlust to know what is beyond the moon and the stars?

Oh to be a nomad exploring the universe

Rather than being tethered go this tired, old planet.

J is for Justice

A2Z2020For this year’s A to Z Challenge I’m going to attempt to post an old saying or adage each day of the month of April (except for Sundays). I’m going through the alphabet, with the first letter of the adage beginning with the first letter of the alphabet (A) and continuing for 26 adages in alphabetical order until I get through the entire alphabet by April 30 — from A to Z.

I don’t know if it can be done, but I’m going to give it the old college try. Here’s my April 11th adage and it starts with the letter J.

Justice delayed is justice denied.

SoCS — This Joint is Jumpin’

DOUNIAMAG-US-DRUGS-CANNABIS-CALIFORNIA“Do you think that joint delivers?”

What joint are you talking about?”

“You know, the joint that sells joints.”

“Oh, you mean the pot joint.”

“Yeah, that’s the one. Do they deliver?”

“I think so, but why do you want to know if they deliver? The place is only six blocks from here. You can walk there.”

“Normally I would, but my arthritis has been acting up again in this damp weather. My joints are killing me.”

“No worries, dude. I can go pick something up for you if your joints are aching. Do you want some weed so you can roll your own joints or do you want me to pick up some edibles?”

“I prefer edibles. My throat gets sore when I smoke too many joints.”

“Okay, I’ll bring back some edibles for you, but while I’m there I’m gonna grab me some weed because I prefer smoking joints. The high from joints hits you a lot quicker than it does from edibles.”

“True, but the high from edibles usually lasts longer than the high from smoking joints.”

“Well, either way, in a few hours this joint will be jumpin’, if you know what I mean.”

Written for today’s Stream of Consciousness Saturday prompt from Linda G. Hill. Linda asked us to use the word “joint” as a noun, an adjective, or a verb. In other words, use it any way we’d like.

FOWC with Fandango — Moon

FOWCWelcome to April 11, 2020 and to Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (aka, FOWC). It’s designed to fill the void after WordPress bailed on its daily one-word prompt.

I will be posting each day’s word just after midnight Pacific Time (US).

Today’s word is “moon.”

Write a post using that word. It can be prose, poetry, fiction, non-fiction. It can be any length. It can be just a picture or a drawing if you want. No holds barred, so to speak.

Once you are done, tag your post with #FOWC and create a pingback to this post if you are on WordPress. Or you can simply include a link to your post in the comments.

The issue with pingbacks not showing up seems to have been resolved, but you might check to confirm that your pingback is there. If not, please manually add your link in the comments.

  1. And be sure to read the posts of other bloggers who respond to this prompt. You will marvel at their creativity.
