How’d you like the third one? I thought the first ones were better.

I think I liked the first one best.

I’ve never heard of any of them. started checking it out online and decided, I’d rather be brain-dead than watch any of them. You have my condolences. lol

It was like watching a live action video game…and a very violent video game.

We are re-watching (again and again and again) “The West Wing.” It reminds us about when we had a government and no plague.

That’s probably a better use of time.

I have just seen the first one. I would be brain dead too if I watched all of them in one day.

You really haven’t missed much unless you enjoy movies with high body counts.

I’ve been watching the third season of Westworld. But it’s new, so I can’t just keep streaming — unless I rewatch the other two seasons. It’s all on HBO. The first season was very interesting (while it’s rough). I’d say the second wasn’t as interesting, with the exception of maybe two or a few episodes (one I really liked a lot). But it’s worth being aware of the trajectory to get to Season III (so far anyway… while I haven’t enjoyed all episodes equally); this season has the sense of another level of production (with small hints of Blade Runner and The Matrix). On HBO, I’m watching The Plot Against America, too.

When I watched the three John Wick films (at separate times and prior to this year while also at home), I felt like I was getting a little bit of a glimpse into and warning against a form of greedy, cultish alliances — which I see as real even if brain and heart dead. Of course, the movies are stylized. And wealth and power are always made to seem glamorous or awesome or exciting to some degree or in some way or another. Your description of seeing yourself as 🧠-dead upon completing the set reminds me of my shock after seeing Pulp Fiction.

I watched the first season of Westworld and a few episodes of the second season but then stopped. And yes, John Wick reminded me of Pulp Fiction, too. And a little line Kill Bill. But the Wick movies felt less artistic.

I stopped — after like two episodes of the second season — also. But, I later (much later due to being pretty bothered by the beginning of the second season) went ahead and finished it. Since you have time on your hands, I’d recommend it. (I thought about sharing video from or the making of an episode, but that might ruin it.) I’ve liked one Tarantino movie (not that I’ve seen them all): Django.

Here’s a “making of” for an episode I’d largely forgotten.

One of my sons would recommend “The Expanse.” (Another of my sons doesn’t appreciate anything like that or Bladerunner, Westworld… but is intensely interested in The Matrix, as am I and as are all my sons).

Some good of your ‘sacrifice’ is that you’ve given me something to watch. IF I can get my internet connection to work properly. I don’t know what happened last night, but it started to buffer (I’m supposed to have a private individual connection for that crap) and worked poorly until I finally just turned off the idiot box and went to bed. Erg. I’ll take Wick II and III under advisement per your review! Thanks! 🙂

I’ve been watching Pee Wee’s Playhouse and ” Evil ” f that runs on CBS because I believe in balancing art and reality- I’ll leave it to you to decide which is which to me- because why not?
