“At first we want life to be romantic; later, to be bearable; finally, to be understandable.”
American poet Louise Bogan
Personally, I was never a romantic type and I never felt that life was unbearable. But I have always sought to try to understand what my life is all about. And I have yet to find the answer.
What about you?

I have felt all those things, but they don’t have anything to do with age for me.

I find this quote oddly relatable. I had a much bigger romantic streak in my twenties and there was definitely a plea for “more bearable” in my late twenties and thirties. Honestly, moving into a phase where I seek understanding is by far the most relaxing.

All I want to say is, that picture makes me think of the new series on HBO called His Dark Materials. I’ve already watched both of the first two episodes more than once. I read the book(s?) some years ago, and the show is very good. (Personally, I’ve wanted life to be all three all along — romantic {or some word like that}, bearable, and understandable.)
