One-Liner Wednesday — Behind Every….

“There’s always some truth behind every ‘just kidding,’ knowledge behind every ‘I don’t know,’ emotions behind every ‘I don’t care,’ and pain behind every ‘it’s okay.’”

Written for Linda G. Hill’s One-Liner Wednesday prompt. Photo credit: freedom.com.

Note: I composed this post before I read Linda’s suggestion to “go to the following link and plug in your birth year to find your favorite words from the year you were born. Make a sentence out of them!”

I thought that suggestion was a bit absurd, given the buzzwords that were distinctive from the year of my birth, many of which were bare-bones, bite-sized, fast-talk fallout that seemed to lack any recognizable human factor, and that would soon become over-the-hill word roadkill.

The words above in red were, according to the site Linda asked us to link to, among those that were first used in print in the year of my birth.

Anti-colonialism, DDD, decoupage, dental technician, Caesar salad, carbon 14, cobalt 60, Charlie and charlie, Revised Standard Version. So interesting. If I read right, he/she and peer-to-peer were new in my year.
