FOWC with Fandango — Spill

FOWCWelcome to July 27, 2019 and to Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (aka, FOWC). It’s designed to fill the void after WordPress bailed on its daily one-word prompt.

I will be posting each day’s word just after midnight Pacific Time (US).

Today’s word is “spill.”

Write a post using that word. It can be prose, poetry, fiction, non-fiction. It can be any length. It can be just a picture or a drawing if you want. No holds barred, so to speak.

Once you are done, tag your post with #FOWC and create a pingback to this post if you are on WordPress. Or you can simply include a link to your post in the comments.

The issue with pingbacks not showing up seems to have been resolved, but you might check to confirm that your pingback is there. If not, please manually add your link in the comments.

And be sure to read the posts of other bloggers who respond to this prompt. You will marvel at their creativity.

Great public service, Tatiana!! And I like that your recipe involves (in part) using half mineral water* and half filtered tap water. I have a Zero Water pitcher and use that (excellent) water for coffee and tea and soup and pasta and some other things. When I only used that water — for regular drinking of straight water too — I had a couple incidents of, for instance, a piece of a tooth shearing off the back (front bottom tooth). Now, I use water filtered through my GE refrigerator (cold, and less filtered than Zero Water) into a Soda Stream bottle (hmmm… I wonder if they make those in glass) that I carefully position under the fridge output line. I then carbonate [not the best for the body but better than not being hydrated] the water with a Soda Stream device [I’ve seen refrigerators with this built in{!}]. That is when I don’t drink plain old tap water (and when I’m not drinking coffee or something else). My dentist impressed upon me that the water in our area is very good [and includes fluoride]; not all places can say so, as there are varying levels of chlorine and other contaminants (some far worse than chlorine). I also have something called Lytebalance that I sometimes put into my water; some people make sure to get their calcium but forget about magnesium (especially important in conjunction with calcium) and potassium [and my children’s grandDad (on their father’s side) was told during a hospital visit recently that he was low on sodium{?!?} — I suppose he’s a little like me in that I don’t add salt to most of my foods].

      * I’ve heard some mineral spring waters are naturally carbonated.
I’ve never found out if that’s better than manually carbonated.

Hi Marleen, thanks, but this is not my site. Please write this on the actual page on my health benefits of water page – the link I provided, so I can give you some answers.

Oh. Putting one and one and two together — health benefits (dotcom) is your own site? I see it IS. Okay, I’ll post it there too. Thanks.

I have a son who always used to have to buy a new white shirt if he got a speck of coffee or sauce on himself. Of course, it has to be the right kind of shirt.

Of course! Do you have a blog on here, Marleen? I would like to read some of your stuff as well.

I do not, alas. But thank you for asking. I’ve thought about it twice or thrice, but I don’t think I’d have enough to say or to keep it interesting as a full blog. There would likely be too much re-blogging. I did recommend yesterday, though, that my children’s grandDad start one for all his writings. He’s a colonel, with a few degrees prior to becoming a colonel in the Army and then a degree from a seminary. (If only he would leave out any politics.)

What I mostly do online is take in information.

Fandango’s site is a haven of sanity (which there can’t be too much of these days).

Wow! His stories would make a wonderful book. It’s very nice to meet you, Marleen. Writing is an escape for me, away from my somewhat boring occupation. Are you in the US?

Yes, I am in the U.S. As for politics in the Army, you probably know there isn’t supposed to be any (verbalized or acted upon, at least before retirement). I myself (never in any armed service) used to vote mostly Republican, but got that sorted out before my youngest son was fully grown. {Yet I don’t take back something I said earlier today in another thread, that I wouldn’t have minded Bill being taken out of office — wouldn’t mind if he had been, would be glad. Gore would’ve been fine.} That youngest son joined the Army while Obama was still President. When that son he was a private in boot camp, there was some lecturing about taking orders one day. And then there was some attitude going on about a Democrat being President (Commander in Chief, chief of orders). So… my son piped up about taking orders from Barack Obama. He got punished for his lip as “Private Democrat” — just push ups. I think it was tongue-in-cheek. I was proud to hear of it. [I’m also proud and relieved that he’s now a cadet in ROTC instead.]

Here is something I would repost (not exactly reblog). I’ll concoct an excuse here that the word ripples (semi-synonym, in context, spills) is used at 25:30.

              Who Owns New Zealand Now?

I think the U.S keeps records or collects data — but goes ahead and does stupid things anyway. But it might not exactly be stupid; it might be greedy or evil (on the part of those who decide).
