Three Line Tales — Endangered

A342801C-B143-48BA-B05C-B3FE4D8EC8EB“Get closer, kids, and take a good look at that majestic, beautiful animal,” Barbara’s and Dennis’ father told them, “because that species may not be around much longer.”

The two children stared in awe and amazement at the enormous polar bear swimming right up next to the huge aquarium’s thick glass wall, and Barbara asked her father why it wasn’t going to be around much longer.

“The sea ice where polar bears live is disappearing due to warming temperatures around the globe,” he explained, “which is the biggest threat to their survival, and if we don’t do something quickly to combat man-made climate change, these magnificent creatures may soon become extinct.”

It really is sad to see the survival of so many species being threatened by what too many politicians call a hoax.

Well, I guess it won’t matter after we’re all dead… it just sucks that it seems no number of people are enough to turn the tide and get change to happen.

It is. Especially when there are steps we can take to do something about climate change before it’s too late.

Me too my friend, poqwerful and thought provoki.

I am still astonished at how many people don’t get this. I had a conversation only yesterday afternoon with someone who called the climatic issue a governmental conspiracy! I said if we don’t do something now, the children will not know what the species were.

He answered with “I don’t give a monkeys!!”

I said “Ha ha, how ironic! In a 100 years children could well not even remotely understand not just that phrase but will ask what the hell is a Monkey?
