K is for Klondike

6E5CF5D2-05B0-419D-9F97-AC1A73782786No, I’m not talking about the region of the Yukon Territory in northwest Canada, east of the Alaska border. This post is not about that Klondike, which is famed for the Klondike Gold Rush, which started in 1897 and lasted until 1899.

07D12AD7-5D94-4A5D-9456-1B7F07AC836BAnd I’m also not talking about the Klondike ice cream bar that consists of a square of vanilla ice cream coated with a thin layer of chocolate. Nope, that’s not what this post is about either.

The Klondike I’m referring to is the best-known solitaire card game, to the point that the term “solitaire,” in the absence of additional qualifiers, typically refers to Klondike.

So why am I writing about a solitaire game? Well, it’s simply because I have an app on my iPhone called Klondike Solitaire and when I’m not blogging — posting, reading, and commenting — I’m probably playing Klondike Solitaire on my iPhone.C8B06ECA-C81C-4223-AEBD-A9E16CB3E4E5I really need to get a life!

I used to be addicted to card games and other games on my phone. Now I am addicted to blogging!😜

I play solitaire, buthaven’t played Klondike in a long time. Thanks for reminding me…I think. I did, however, have a Klondike Bar last night. 😉

Klondike Bars are tasty, but messy. I usually end up with a piece of that “thin chocolate covering” on my shirt or pants when I eat them.

Ah, there’s a strategy to eating them. Truth is, they melt way too fast. Hard to enjoy them.

I had to delete all the card and word game apps on my iPad – I just couldn’t stop playing them!

They are addicting. Solitaire is the only one I keep, and I play it a lot. Too much, in fact.

The jingle from a former Klondike bar commercial was running through my mind, so I admit that I was thinking your post would be about an ice cream sandwich thingie. I never even thought of Klondike solitaire! Even though I like playing that game…

I like playing it too. I haven’t in a while, though. However, when on our trip to a lake in Oklahoma last month, I suggested playing Kings in the Corner. I like that as well.

Ooh, I’d like to talk about Klondike ice cream bars. Yes indeed. Like how the chocolate ice cream ones are just weird because classic vanilla is really the only way to go.

And just because you DID bring them up… what would you do for a Klondike bar? As for solitaire I prefer Spider or Free Cell.
