Yes, I’m Angry

5B25D55D-D91C-409E-B0BC-B5B2E7829AA0I’m upset.

I’m frustrated.

I’m disappointed.

And I’m pissed.

Don’t worry, though

I’ll get over it.

Because what choice do I have?

There’s really very little I can do.

But I am hopeful that, eventually, the truth will out.

And decency and sanity will be restored.

I am optimistic that this madness will end.

I am counting on the survival of our republic.

But just in case I’m wrong

And Donald Trump gets re-elected

I will be exploring other countries to move to.

Being an expat might not be so bad

Compared to staying around

And witnessing the dissolution

Of the American republic.

Crime Can Be Fatal

FDB030B0-8A0D-45ED-B3D5-929CFEF41BFE“I got another corpse over here,” called out James Conover, the lead FAA investigator. He and his team were investigating the crash of a small, private jet in the San Andres Mountains in New Mexico.

“That makes three dead,” said Jack Jamison, a member of Conover’s team.

“Here, in the trees, is a fourth,” Janet Holmes, the team’s only female member, called out. “He apparently tried to parachute out of the plane before it went down, but the chute probably deployed too close to ground and the thin, gossamer-like material didn’t slow his descent down enough to save him.”

“Based upon the direction of the plane and its markings, when it went down, it seems to have been heading north from Colombia,” Conover said.

“And there are several hundred cocaine packages strewn on the ground next to the plane’s fuselage,” Jamison added.

“And as a former college professor,” Holmes said, “I’d call this is a teachable moment. Crime can be fatal.”

Share Your World — Not My Lucky Day

Monday means it’s once again time for Melanie’s Share Your World questions.

What is the best pick me up that you know of to shake you out of the blues?

The good news is that I don’t get blue that often, but when I do, there’s nothing like ice cream to get me back on track. After the news of the release of the Mueller Report and Attorney General Barr’s summary, which essentially gives Trump and his corrupt family a free ride, I’m going to have to sit down and consume a couple of gallons of ice cream later today.19F0E55A-02D2-4A25-A54C-25E27674C421

What would be the title of your memoir?

  “A Life Most Ordinary”

Where do you like to go when you eat out?

Mostly to restaurants.

Do you believe in luck?

No. Not in fate, predestination, or anything like that, either.

Aside from necessities, what is one thing you couldn’t go a day without?

My iPhone.

Fandango’s Flash Fiction Challenge #6

FFFCWelcome to “Fandango’s Flash Fiction Challenge.” Each week I will be posting a photo I grab off the internet and challenge bloggers to write a relatively short flash fiction piece inspired by the photo. While there are no definitive style or word limits, I suggest trying to keep your posts to under 300 words.

I want to sincerely thank everyone who has participated in these challenges so far. Your posts have been very creative. I hope this week’s image will also generate some great posts as well.

So now it’s time for my sixth weekly Fandango’s Flash Fiction Challenge.
