2019 is 1984

3864C99C-26BB-4EC5-A9D0-2EEF7B540A9AThe assemblage of Trump lemmings down in Mar-a-Lago are fist-bumping and high-fiving this weekend. The talking heads at Fox News are delirious in their joy today. That’s because the long-awaited and much-anticipated Mueller Report has been delivered, and even though few people know what’s actually in it, the Trump faithful are pounding their chests and claiming vindication. “No collusion, no obstruction,” they are gleefully yelling.

Donald Trump, Jr., Ivanka Trump, and Jared Kushner have all escaped indictments (so far). As has Donald Trump himself. The Mueller probe is over, and from all outward appearances, it looks like Donald Trump and his kin will get off scot-free.

I don’t know what’s in the Mueller report, but it’s hard for me to imagine, given what we have all seen with our own eyes and heard with our own ears, that there is no hard evidence of collusion and obstruction on the part of Donald Trump. But then again, Trump did tell his supporters, “Just remember, what you are seeing and what you are reading is not what’s happening. Just stick with us, don’t believe the crap you see from these people, the fake news.”

I wonder if all of America, including Robert Mueller, has been somehow brainwashed to the point of denying what we all know to be true. Donald Trump and his see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil Republican sycophants in Congress have redefined the American identity, and it’s not for the better.

War is peace, freedom is slavery, ignorance is strength, lies are truth, and 2019 is 1984.

I, for one, want to see the entire report without redactions. We the people PAID for it and it shouldn’t be cherry picked by a Trump shill before he allows us to see what is ‘acceptable’. These times are not acceptable. Trump is not acceptable. We need to see where we are going next. As one commentator said, this is only the end of the beginning. Let’s go.

But aren’t those more financial and business practices related rather than dealing with Russia, collusion, obstruction, and being a fucking traitor to his country?

Can still mean prison, and a President cannot pardon state charges.

I think whatever indictments there will be have been spread out between various state courts. When the decision came down that you can’t indict a sitting president, Mueller didn’t waste his time trying grab the unreachable fruit. Hopefully we will see more in the actual report. I hope.

I always thought that the BIG DEAL that was being made of the “investigation” might end in a flop….People make too much of many a thing before any ‘facts’ are revealed. What times in which we live…

You can indict a sitting president (“no one is above the law”). It just “isn’t done.” And it might be impracticable in that the criminal is in charge of or overseeing the administration. We will soon observe whether or not “conservatives” are still in favor of states’ rights or justice for the people of the country. I think the powers that be, in their ranks, aren’t really “for” anything but themselves. I say this as someone who sees herself to be conservative but not a godamn manipulative liar. I’m probably too attached to the word, when what I mean is something else… like principled. I’ve been thinking of myself lately as progressive [not just Democrat in general], but I took in a few things [a few articles and a video] today which put that history into question as well (not in the same old ways Republicans or those Republicans who say they’re not Republicans — like libertarians for instance — would disingenuously or ignorantly go on against it). Labels probably don’t work for very long as categories; we have to improve and evaluate our use of words as we further our understandings. I’m a progressive conservative maybe; I’ve said it before. But “conservative” actually is problematic as a general term considering real history.

Enough rambling on my part. Really, everyone with a piece of good sense knows this person holding office (and those around him) must be held to account. I think it’s more likely, though, that only some around him (and none including his family) will see punishment of some kind than that he will.* ** (It wouldn’t have to be conspiracy, as the one charge or one of the matters, charged against him. But that could be involved.) We also likely need to improve our laws and processes for the office winner; I’m not hopeful about that. Some combination of not wanting to cramp the style of people in elite stations in life — whether born into money or otherwise obtaining power — that and, for other people, not seeing where the weak points are that could be addressed… these will leave us more vulnerable than need be (no government can be perfect, but governing can be improved). Maybe I should be more hopeful. I regret that I believe half the population will be informed in fact of the traitorous self-dealing of this royal family and not care. (I am aware there is a strict definition of treason, so there will be no such indictment on that count. Not likely anyway.) We have been dependent on decency. But decency is missing.

[* This may be due, in part, to Manifort agreeing to telling the truth and then backtracking in hopes of being pardoned — and perhaps in hopes of the mob (to use a euphemistic term), of whatever origin, not coming after him or his family.

** What in the world do we do about all the complicit others in larger circles?]

Let’s not second guess what we don’t know. Not yet. Wait a few days. Everyone is a wild fury of guessing … but that’s all it is. If you’re right, we’ll know soon enough. And if you aren’t, we’ll know THAT soon enough, too. But all this guessing is doing no good for anyone.

I take it you did tune into FOX”news” today? I won’t today. I do like your use of 1984. That book is often used to make opposite points of what people imagine they’re saying. Ironically. And that was going on before Trump was taken seriously as their candidate.

I think anyone who thought Mueller was going to provide bullet-proof evidence of Trump’s crimes was a bit delusional – no offense! Proving a POTUS conspired with a foreign country to win the Presidency? Holy shit! The damage that would do to our nation and the future of our nation could possibly be irreparable.

Now, lots of people around Trump were indicted and are still being investigated. This isn’t over, although I dread going to work tomorrow and listening to the Trumpers. Ugh.

I’ve said it all along, but the only real way we’re going to get Trump out of the WH is to vote his crooked ass out in 2020. That’s the ONLY way.

Which politician isn’t in collusion? They’re all in the “brotherhood” of Freemasonry. Americans and Germans were trading military planes during the war according to history archives available to the public. Bush’s grandfather was financing Hitler’s rise to power through company investments according to a research journalist who found all the paperwork. The Freemasons have been wanting to rebuild Solomon’s Temple since nobody can remember according to a 1912 New York Times article in their archives, resulting in the orchestration of WW1 and WW2 to get into Jerusalem. Even the Roman Catholic church is now using the Seal of Baal hidden in the Vatican State Coat of Arms since 1929. Masonry is the ancient occultism of Babylon, including Baal worship. Everything is fake news.
