We were supposed to be partners, just you and me.
There for each other through thick and thin.
But everything changed in the blink of an eye.
You started staying away, not saying where you’d been.
I never thought that our partnership would so quickly die.
Written for the In Other Words prompt from Patricia’s Place. The challenge this week is to write a story or poem of five lines or fewer using the word “partners.”
A sorrowful and dismayed way that many relationships end. You captured it well.
