30-Day Song Challenge — Golden Oldies

Today we are asked for “a song from the year we were born.” Now we are talking about some serious ancient history here. I was born about nine months after World War II ended. I was literally one of the first of the Baby Boomers. I Googled the Billboard top 100 songs of 1946 and this is the song that was sitting at the number one position:

    Beautiful. I just finished a novel about WWII, hearing this, I can imagine the importance of simple love songs after such an intense season of war. My favorite Perry Como song is, “And I Love you So”

    I learned that 1963 was the last year without British Invasion songs in the top hundred.

    I wonder how long The Perry Como show was on the air because I remember it and I was born at the end of the 50s. Mellow and beautiful. It was a different time in those days.
