Day 7 — Fun, Fun, Fun

img_3121I’m cheating today, I admit it. You see, today’s prompt for the 30-Day Song Challenge is “a  song to drive to.”

As I thought about this, I recalled that not that long ago, for one of Helen Vahdati’s Song Lyric Sunday prompts, I used The Beach Boys song “Fun Fun Fun.” You know, the one that goes, “And she’ll have fun fun fun / ‘Til her daddy takes the T-Bird away.”

I think “Fun Fun Fun” is a great song to drive to. So rather than trying to come up with a different song for today’s song challenge, I thought I would just link to that aforementioned post here.

But if you don’t want to take the time to click on the link and read that post, here’s the song, which I know you’ll agree is a great song to drive to.

I was hired to drive a 👕bird and feed some fish when I was sixteen and the neighbors on the east side of our house went on some kind of vacation. It was a metallic pink (maybe slightly taupe — not a hot pink or baby pink). They wanted me to drive it around the block.

I actually followed the directions faithfully, I drove the car around the block. (This was said to be to keep the engine from deteriorating while they were gone).

A few years later, I drove a (hand-me-down) Camaro while playing Yes (if anyone remembers them) on an eight-track and delivering alfalfa sprouts, which I’d grown, to salad bar restaurants and grocery stores.

(Their older music, as I wasn’t into their eighties music.)

Yes is still making music. I saw the grouping [there are two current groupings] of Yes that includes Jon Anderson and Rick Wakeman fairly recently. This was a family event to which all of my sons in town went too.

I remember this song from high school when Daddy would threaten to take away the Tbird /Hudson.
