FOWC with Fandango — Pending

FOWCWelcome to December 3, 2018 and to Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (aka, FOWC). It’s designed to fill the void after WordPress bailed on its daily one-word prompt.

I will be posting each day’s word just after midnight Pacific Time (US).

Today’s word is “pending.”

Write a post using that word. It can be prose, poetry, fiction, non-fiction. It can be any length. It can be just a picture or a drawing if you want. No holds barred, so to speak.

Once you are done, tag your post with #FOWC and create a pingback to this post if you are on WordPress. Or you can simply include a link to your post in the comments.

And be sure to read the posts of other bloggers who respond to this prompt. You will marvel at their creativity.

My response is marked pending further review… having a 3 am conniption because of Amazon. Nothing I can do about it, but it is annoying as all get out.

I was a long-time happy customer of amazon(dotcom)… prime, audiobooks, etc. [with a few moments of exception early on that went away so that there were years of smooth sailing]. Then there started to be what seemed to me a habit of figuring out how to nickel and dime the customer along with a new tricky ploy every few months (although it also seemed like they would give your money back for something that you saw as tricky or unsatisfactory, if you took the time to tell them). There came a time, though, that I got fed up. This was shortly after my dad died. The site was malfunctioning [the site actually malfunctioning wasn’t something that had happened before] such that a few items I wanted to return couldn’t be returned (because the return slips couldn’t be printed) even though the items in my history read as returnable. It was the last straw for me. I was paying for service, on top of paying for items I ordered, and not getting service. And some of the aspects of membership were splintering out as separate fees (at least one of which that I hadn’t intended or understood as a change). I just dropped it all.
