SoCS — Indigestion

F3E973D1-2C66-4CDD-8F6E-91D8DB68A5B9Linda G. Hill has given us the word “digest” for her Stream of Consciousness Saturday prompt, which I think is quite appropriate for those of us in the U.S. who celebrated Thanksgiving this past Thursday by ingesting more turkey, stuffing, sweet potato soufflé, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie à la mode than our bodies can possibly digest.

And speaking about turkey and digestion, I’m really having a problem trying to digest how Donald Trump is putting Saudi Arabia — not America — first. He’s claiming that the CIA did not conclude that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (aka, MBS) ordered the murder of U.S. resident and Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi. This despite the fact that American intelligence agencies have, in fact, concluded that the Crown Prince ordered the killing in the Saudi Consulate in Turkey.

I mean anyone with half a brain would know that MBS was behind the brutal murder. So clearly Trump doesn’t have half a brain.

This is just another Trump self-serving lie. Depending upon who’s doing the counting, Trump has told between 4,000 and 7,000 lies or misleading statements since he’s been President of the United States. And the rate of his lying is accelerating. How is it that even his most diehard supporters, much less members of Congress, can believe anything he ever says? Anything. Ever.

And yet he is still the President.

How can that be?

I just can’t digest that.

Totally agree. I hate him more with each incident, like now with his disrespect of the courts making me take Justice Roberts’ side. Wait wtf? Roberts? Gah! I just read some gobbledy by the Saudis about how we should be skeptical of the CIA report. Hah! I thought, what’s this shit? Then the Saudi writer reminded me that Gina Haspel is head of the CIA. Gina fucking Haspel. In my zeal to oppose Trump and jump to support the CIA, I totally forgot that he appointed this monster to head it up. This is where we are.

There is a complete alternate universe his followers live in (I’m not kidding). They tell themselves they’ve taken the red pill and see it all clearly. For instance, Trump is saving children from trafficking at the border and our birth certificates going to the Vatican is human trafficking. We don’t want our children trafficked, thus really should not get them birth certificates. At the same time, we shouldn’t let people across our border without proper papers (like certificates).

Of course, for the most part, children are being kidnapped from their parents/guardians at the border (and possibly trafficked or sold off in some cases). And Khashoggi was kidnapped, tortured, and dismembered (and murdered), his body smuggled out of the embassy — and the whole matter lied about in one changing story after another. Oh, well… but the money, says the current president of the United States. I don’t doubt he’s been getting paid off by the Saudis.

It really does seem like we are living in an alternative reality.
