I’m totally fed up. It’s depressing, disgusting, deplorable, detestable, disparaging, and duplicitous. And I just can’t do it anymore. I can’t post about politics. It’s killing me.
So from now on, I’m going to stop watching cable news, politically oriented comedy, my iPhone’s newsfeed, or reading the newspaper. I’m going to virtually bury my head in the sand. I’m going to stop posting about politics, Donald Trump, Brett Kavanaugh, Mitch McConnell, the Russia probe, etc. Yes siree Bob. My posts are going be light and airy, fluffy and frivolous.
Wait, excuse me just a second. I got a notification on my iPhone.Oh fuck. Well, never mind. I tried.
I stopped long ago. I gaze briefly at the headlines on Google News, I see most of what’s happening through Facebook posts, but no more watching the news, or reading the newspaper in depth. It’s unhealthy.Seriously. What kind of world are we living in? I watch local news only with stories about dogs being rescued and the weather.

I think this sort of thing happens when you expect decency out of politicians (regardless of party) in the first place. When you become a politician, even with the best intentions, in order to get re-elected, you sell your soul. After that, you’re capable of anything.
Life is much easier when you realize a political party isn’t the height of human morality. In fact, it’s the opposite.

The founders supposedly didn’t want parties or factions, but the actual law-making bodies “caucus” to come up with and decide on legislation. Wonder how they can change it

I think my involvement in politics has increased in the past couple of years what with the disaster that is Brexit and the rise of the far right which had been figure headed by Donald Trump.

I’m just trying to get together with the reality that the future belongs to those who will live in it. If they don’t take a hand in making the world the way the want it, they will not have a world worth living in. But the point is, we won’t be here. They HAVE to make it theirs. We can urge them on, try to talk them around, but in the end, it really IS up to them.

I don’t agree with Marilyn, the events in question, are a chain.. Not a once in a lifetime, unexpected event, the present as well as previous generations had and has a role in shaping it.. You can’t just leave it to the will of the future generations, seeing that the political freedom that we enjoy maybe, just maybe, a lie or worse a myth for them.

I think what Marilyn is saying is that those of us who are old-timers are not the ones who will be most impacted by what is going on today. Our days or numbered. We won’t be around much longer. There is much more at stake for millennials and the younger generation than there is for us. They can rise up or they can sit back and do nothing. And if they choose to do nothing to change the course, it’s on them.

I’m still on my cable news (MSNBC) diet. I yo-yo, but I have to stick with it. I have one word for everyone – VOTE!

This series of events is really disheartening and liable to put one totally off politics. But your interest will come back soon, as new and maybe positive developments happen. Hopefully.

Thank goodness! Unlike the cabal, this took sanity and a conscience which they lack. Welcome back. There is much to do and yes, I’ve felt sick myself and I haven’t been in the Country for eleven years this month.

Sirius XM Spa channel and Doctor Radio better than cable news

I think that I hate Mitch McConnell as much as I do Trump.
