To Infinity and Beyond

“You’re wasting you time with all this space nonsense,” Al’s father said. “You should spend your time more productively. Do something meaningful.”

“Excuse me, Dad, but how I spend my leisure time is up to me,” Al responded. “Besides, the universe is so infinite and yet is such a mystery that it’s tantalizing to me. I can’t believe, Dad, that you have no appreciation for it.”

“You need to get your head out of the stars,” Al’s father said. “You’ve been watching too much of that “Doctor Who” crap on TV with that traveling Time Lord and that Star Trek nonsense with its holodeck, and Klingon aliens.”

“Dad, we can learn so much about our origins from the universe, and gain a better understanding of the transitory nature of our existence on this tiny planet we all share,” Al responded. “Your generation needs to stop being so sequacious in your narrow minded perspectives.”

“Al,” his father said, “you’d better get your head right or you’re going to give the Einstein family name a bad reputation.”
