Share Your World — Nuts, Closet Doors, and Timing

SYWCee Neuner is at it again with another edition of her Share Your World prompt. Here are this week’s questions with my answers.

Do you prefer eating foods with nuts or no nuts?

81823946-A56D-48F1-9CBF-5859066DDF10I never did like walnuts or pecans, but I used to love unsalted roasted peanuts. Unfortunately, I have suffered from a number of instances of diverticulitis and my doctor has strongly suggested that I avoid eating nuts, seeds, or popcorn.

Do you sleep with your closet doors open or closed?

Closed. Why would I keep my closet doors open when I’m sleeping? I’m not a sleepdresser.

Are you usually late, early, or right on time?

I hate being late for anything, so I tend to time my arrivals to be at least five to ten minutes early. I lose patience with people who are habitually late. That’s just rude.

What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week?

The fact that Paul Manafort was found guilty by the grand jury, that Michael Cohen pleaded guilty, and that things seem to be closing in on Trump. I am so looking forward to the day when I can write, in answer to what I appreciated or made me smile, that Donald Trump was indicted, impeached, imprisoned, or otherwise removed from office.2A07B5D0-B2FB-4926-B602-AF26F61D1B24

I do like nuts… in food of a more complex kind or on their own. There have been times I disliked walnuts in a way, especially plain and raw. But even at that time they could be good in an apple cake. I used to almost always choose a dish with some kind of nut — almonds or cashews — if my parents and I went to a Chinese restaurant. Now I sometimes choose nuts but get plenty of nuts by buying them straight — Brazil nuts, hazel nuts, macadamias, pecans, almonds, peanuts. Sesame is good too. Pine nuts are good in certain things.

Chocolate bars are better with nuts.

That closet door thing? How is that a question? Upon reflection, it might get left open by accident if I’m really tired or something.

I like to be on time. I aim for that or about five minutes early. Sometimes I’m earlier (but won’t go to the door early at the home of a new aquaintance).

I appreciated when my mother texted me that Trump was being foolish about McCain. Her word, but it matched what I’d been thinking. Actually, I probably thought more directly that he is a fool. She’s a Trump fan (so much so that she was satisfied when he finally said something about thoughts and prayers or the like last night, which she texted me this morning); distressing but not totally surprising (she’s pretty shallow). Yesterday evening, she was saying Trump was making McCain’s death about himself and that he was being childish, that he was jealous, that he should humble himself, that he should give McCain some public acclaim and respect, that he’s a bully. She started off by saying, “What an offensive personality Trump has. I think he should get some training for higher class society.”

Oh… I clicked over there. Nice closet. I’m getting ready to make a bedroom into a combination closet-office (not a formal office, just an included desk).
