Bathroom Humor?

F87D8CB3-F031-4D76-9330-08ED632E5BCFI don’t often look at Facebook anymore, but the other night I was suffering from insomnia, so I reached for my iPhone and fired up Facebook.

I am telling you this because I came across something that I thought was a bit, well, strange. One of my Facebook acquaintances asked this question:

“When you wipe yourself, which hand do you use, your dominant hand or your non-dominant hand?”

I never really thought about that question and when I saw that there were more than 50 comments to this informal survey, I became curious to see how people would answer this question. So I started reading the comments and one comment in particular totally cracked me up.

To the question about which hand you use to wipe yourself, one guy wrote, “I use toilet paper.”

And speaking about toilet paper, here’s a question for you:A3E7302A-EB72-4292-9A1F-1B21584EFD82

I prefer the arguments over why I didn’t put a new roll on

Hmm. Yes, I can see where that might be a source of irritation in a pinch.

If you’re writing about this, there are probably other topics you have overlooked.

Over, but it’s not one of those freakout things to me if someone puts it on under.

I know this may seem strange but because of the bathroom configurations in my 110 year old house, over in the second floor bathroom, under in the first floor bathroom. I just doesn’t work as efficiently any other way.

I was told in no uncertain terms that the loo roll should be ‘over’. The informer happily told me she had put mine right! Over or under, whatever, is never as annoying as someone using the last sheet and not replacing the roll! (I always make sure I have a visible stock of rolls in the bathroom)

TP should go over UNLESS you have a kitten, then under in the hopes he/she will not completely unroll and shred it.

As for which hand? As long as there’s TP and there’s room to maneuver, whatever gets the job done … presumably. And there’s always room for a shower to follow.

Oh my. GAW. You went there. You really did. Over, man. OVER. Any other way (including leaving a bare tp roll on the hanger and placing a roll on the counter/sink) is villainous and will lead to the miscreant being hit with spitwads made of that same tp..

As for the other question about the whole wiping thing: Sir, you hang out with the wrong sort of folks on FB. I mean WHO asks such a thing? And like the one sharp pencil in that box of crayons…I use TP to wipe with. Although I do know someone (from a different cultural background) who washes themselves after going. Using their non-dominant hand. They find the idea of TP rather wasteful apparently. I find the idea of touching that area without having wiped rather disgusting. To each their own I suppose.

Are you sorry (yet) that you asked? 😉

All these over answers. Never paid any attention. Had to look. Master bath under and main bath over. Chaos may ensue. lol

“Over” at home, although I can see how it would depend on particular configurations. For example, I read somewhere that cleaning crews use “over” in hotel rooms so they are able to fold the first square into an arrow (indicates the room has been cleaned and the tp replenished); at many public bathroom dispensers, though, they do “under”, or the tp just will not flow properly … aaah, brain cells melting from being misused!

Some cultures care greatly which hand you use (dominant or non-dominant). But we have plenteous paper and handy sinks with running water and soap. I did go to a hooka place once that had one of those hand-held spray things in the public bathroom. I cannot imagine using one of those things out where who knows who used it too. Ick; I was glad there was paper too (and it’s probably a different type of culture that puts emphasis on which hand to use).

Over or under: Mainly, I don’t think it’s a good idea for the paper to rest or run along the wall (more likely if the paper runs “under” the roll). Unsanitary.

Non Dominant, and Over. And prefer Japanese squat over Western, but sad to see squat disappearing.

I think Japanese has a different connotation these days — some very involved expensive bidet, heating, combo situation (not a simple squat). I guess you knew that.

Yes I know that, but in rural area of Japan, China, and South Asian regions squat are disappearing. That’s disappointing. In the West, their was no squat culture, now they have stools for supporting the position, but it’s still in debate whether they work or not..

The roll is always over. Dominate hand (with TP) for me. What an odd question though LOL!

Over, but under looks more aesthetically pleasing for some reason. Maybe it’s because I’m viewing them like a head of hair and over looks like an awkwardly long set of bangs…

Your Facebook feed is way more interesting and informative than mine. 🙂

Also, I’m just happy if I remembered to buy toilet paper at all.

Over! Definitely. Underroos are just creating problems for my anal retentive nature 😆
