Just as he did every night, Sam took his dog out for her last walk of the night. The moon was full and bright, illuminating their usual route, so Sam left his flashlight at home.
Perhaps if he’d brought his flashlight that night, he’d have seen what was lurking in the bushes.

My worse nightmare when I’m out on that last walk of the night…we have a clan of skunks who frequent the neighborhood. I use the flashlight on my phone for that very reason. Good tale. 🎂

Haha! Meant to put a smiley face at the end. Autocorrect prefers we just have cake. 🤣

We have raccoons. They don’t frighten easily.

Oh yes. They hold their ground. The same can be said for possums if there is food involved. I had outside cats that I fed on my porch until a local possum discovered their bowl. Mean, scary rats they are when they’re not feigning death.
