FOWC with Fandango — Melancholy

FOWCWelcome to July 20, 2018 and to Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (aka, FOWC). It’s designed to fill the void after WordPress bailed on its daily one-word prompt.

I will be posting each day’s word just after midnight Pacific Time (US).

Today’s word is “melancholy.”

Write a post using that word. It can be prose, poetry, fiction, non-fiction. It can be any length. It can be just a picture or a drawing if you want. No holds barred, so to speak.

Once you are done, tag your post with #FOWC and create a pingback to this post if you are on WordPress. Or you can simply include a link to your post in the comments.

And be sure to read the posts of other bloggers who respond to this prompt. You will marvel at their creativity.

    Good morning,

Would you believe it that I was typing my latest instalment of my story when your word of the day popped up and it was the very word I was trying to find to describe what my main character was feeling. BRAVO, thank you for providing me with the right word. ‘Sad’ just didn’t do it justice.

    Here is my story:

A good word but I’m afraid it doesn’t describe my mood currently…

Thank you for doing these challenges. I am kinda new to your blog, so new to the FOWCs but this one is good. It made me realize I’m absolutely terrified to write fiction, so that’s an interesting thought for me to sit with for a while. Again, thank you for giving us all something to ponder.. 🙂

My pleasure. I’m happy that you discovered FOWC and encourage you to try your hand at writing fiction.
