FOWC with Fandango — Lessen

FOWCWelcome to July 10, 2018 and to Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (aka, FOWC). It’s designed to fill the void after WordPress bailed on its daily one-word prompt.

I will be posting each day’s word just after midnight Pacific Time (US).

Today’s word is “lessen.” Not to be confused with yesterday’s word, “lesson.”

Write a post using that word. It can be prose, poetry, fiction, non-fiction. It can be any length. It can be just a picture or a drawing if you want. No holds barred, so to speak.

Once you are done, tag your post with #FOWC and create a pingback to this post if you are on WordPress. Or you can simply include a link to your post in the comments.

    Today’s lesson is learning about lessen and how many hands can lessen the burden of life. 🙂

    I thought you were being punny: Lesson yesterday, lessen today. Maybe after that you’d give use “lightning” and “lightening” or “two, to, and two” as a whipped topper for the sundae.

    No matter. You got “lessen” from me because I didn’t do yesterday’s Lesson. I didn’t even find it before we had to go to the hospital where we were from 1 in the afternoon until nearly 5, most of that time waiting for the next “round” of tests and questions.

    Actually, please explain the difference between “loose” and “lose” because it makes me crazy that people can’t tell the difference. For that matter, I may give a short lectures on “less” versus “fewer.”

      If your knot is too loose, you may lose the scarf in the wind.

      And is it just me, or do the signs at the grocery store checkout that say “15 items or LESS” drive you as crazy as they do me? I look forward to your short lecture. While you’re at it, how about lecturing those who say, “I could care less”?
