Yesterday I downloaded (or uploaded — I know there’s a difference but I’m not sure which is which) the latest update to the WordPress app for iOS. And now, when I am in my reader and go to “Visit” a post I find there, in many cases the “Like” button is missing.
I can still “like” a post if I tap the star in my reader. But not when I click on “Visit.” On most posts, anyway.
Is it just me? Does this happen only on the iPhone app or are those of you with Android phones also experiencing this? What about on Windows or Mac laptops?
I opened up a help ticket with WordPress, so now I’m holding my breath waiting for an answer an answer from on of the Happiness Engineers.
Just kidding! I don’t really expect an answer. Here’s one answer I received to my last ticket:
[Point of information: I pay for the “Personal” plan. I would think that should account for something.]
So? Anyone else having this issue?
Having the same issue, also have the personal plan. Glad to see I’m not the only one. I just don’t want my readers to think I don’t read their posts.

You should let them know, open a ticket. I’ll let you know if I get a response from WordPress. Seems like their updates to the app are one-step forward and two steps back these days.

I do have a ticket in just waiting on their response. I also brought up the fact that I can’t create galleries from my media library. I agree, but maybe this will be remedied soon.

[ Smiles ] Uninstall the WordPress Mobile App and reinstall it; hopefully that might help.
Thankfully, I am not experiencing that issue on the Android platform.
iOS seems to be very touchy!

I don’t use the app, just my laptop or phone browser, and not having any problems except for slow load sometimes…sorry, I can’t help you 😦

I think the problem is strictly with the latest app update.

I don’t have a mobile phone, so I don’t use it. But they aren’t giving anyone any support anymore. They’ve decided they want businesses, which we aren’t.

I rarely use the WordPress app on my phone, but when I do there’s no problem. However, I have an Android phone.

I just loaded the latest update for iOS (the iPhone/iPad operating system) last night and it’s a mess. Too bad the Happiness Engineers at WordPress don’t abide by the old adage, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”

If you’re using the WordPress app for iOS and you’re not having any issues, I recommend skipping the latest update. Maybe they’ll get it fixed in the following update.

I have all types of issues and none of them ever get resolved. I got more help from Sight than I did from WordPress.

Don’t usually use the app (on Android) but I have no issues like that on my laptop. Hope it gets straightened out soon!
