Problem Solved?

I received an email tonight from Stef, the Happiness Engineer at Akismet.

Stef wrote, “We’ve made some adjustments that should clear things up moving forward. Please note that any comments that were flagged will still need to be moderated and marked as ‘not spam’ by the blog owner.”

But then Stef wrote something weird. He wrote, “Looking at our logs, it looks like you’re leaving a lot of comments in a very short amount of time, which imitates the behaviour of a spambot. That is why Akismet keeps catching you as spam.”

I’m leaving a lot of comments in a short amount of time? Seriously, Stef?

Finally Stef wrote, “I suggest you to slow down a little bit with the rate of commenting to avoid this inconvenience in the future.”

Slow down, huh? I move too fast. I don’t know, Stef. I’m actually not feelin’ all that groovy.

I’m on what they call the “personal” plan. I do know that they flag comments with more than two links in them as possible spam. But as to commenting too fast, I use my iPhone and type with one finger. It’s impossible to comment too fast doing it that way. Maybe they meant too many typos.

I disagree. Bloggers I kow don’t pay extra and paying more doesn’t help anything.

You do get a few things: no ads, more storage, your own domain name. But it shouldn’t impact core functionality.

    See what I mean?
The real issue is that people link back to you on one post, and that counts as a read as well.
Slow down, you move too fast, you gotta make the mornin’ last …

That’s the same thing they told you, right? Must be a form letter response.

Lol. You should have told WP to bring back the Daily Prompt. It seems that all those “comments” you and all the other new “prompters” might be causing a groovy kind of love-in WP wasn’t expecting

That’s exactly it … penalised for leaving comments. I thought blogging was about interacting and discussion … silly me!

I hope the problem is fixed. I find it ridiculous you can make “too many” comments … how else would you connect with your readers. Oh, and thanks for the song. It’s been ages since I’ve heard that one!
