The image above, Hand with Reflecting Sphere, also known as Self-Portrait in Spherical Mirror, is a lithograph print by Dutch artist M.C. Escher. First printed in January 1935, the piece depicts the artist’s hand holding a reflective sphere. In the reflection, most of the room around Escher can be seen.
I have always been a huge fan of M.C. Escher’s work. I have several coffee table books of his drawings in my home as well as a handful of his prints hanging on my walls.
Here are just a few of my favorite Escher works. Look at them closely.
Written for today’s One-Word Challenge. The word is “mirror.”
Brilliant.

Escher’s great. At one point I had some of his prints. They got lost in the shuffle over the past 20 or so years

Reminds me of the film Inception (and I’m still trying to work that one out!)

Some people say a sequel to Inception is being held until it can be shown in theaters.

Interesting if they did, mind you, we couldn’t sit in a theatre for a showing due to mobility issues so would wait for the DVD to come out.

I would like for them to go ahead and release it, streaming or on HBO or something, although I’d suppose there are monetary and contract considerations.

Love Escher’s work… my sister had one of his prints in her room growing up – I’d stare at it as long as I could before she kicked me out of her room.
