People often ask me why I blog anonymously.
What are you trying to hide they want to know.
Why do you keep your true identity hidden they ask.
Who is it behind all those zeros and ones, those bits and bytes they wonder.
But this is who I really am I answer.
I am not trying to hide anything I tell them.
This my true identity I explain.
Because here I can say anything I want to say.
Go anywhere I want to go.
Be anything I want to be.
Dream anything I want to dream.
I am judged by my words, not my appearance.
I am appreciated for my wit, not my wealth.
It is my mind, not my visage, that is on display.
I am unlimited, unbound, untethered, unrestrained.
I am anyone and everyone.
It is the flesh and blood me in the bricks and mortar world who must remain hidden.

This is great! It’s like being known for nothing BUT your writing. Pretty awesome!

I appreciate your anonymity for all the reasons you so eloquently presented in this post. The biggest single mistake I have made in this place was to naïvely give my own email address on my Avatar which led to people delightedly, like a trophy, a prize, a grail using my actual first name rather than Osyth (which is my middle name) in comments. Although I have asked people not to it is as though they want to wear it as a badge of friendship …. I find it irritating. But one gets used to black flies in summer time so I bear it. Keep your identity to yourself. I salute you 🙂

Thanks. I have a dedicated email that I use exclusively for this blog so that my real-world identity will remain hidden.

Of course you aren’t fooling any of us. We know you are Donald Trump’s alter-ego–the “nice guy” side of him that’s been dying to come out.

Was it my orange, cotton candy-like hair that gave me away?

Yeah, past experiences with other blogging platforms have left me somewhat gunshy about putting my face and too much info out there.

I spent my life writing and publishing under my own name. There didn’t seem much point in trying to advertise my book (I used to do that) under a fake name. Besides, I write whatever I want to write anyway, with or without my real name. I don’t think I know how to do anything else.

I write what I want and I say what I want without being hidden and I could care less what others think about me.

You mean you *couldn’t* care less!

Agree. If anyone of you guys see me in real life, you will start having opinions and will not remain neutral. I am completely on the same page Sensei.
