100WW — Ticky-Tacky

“I don’t like it,” she said

“Why not?” he asked.

“It’s bland,” she answered. “Every house looks the same, every lot the same size, everything so uniform. It’s a bunch of ticky-tacky little houses all lined up in a row. It reminds me of some sort of “Stepford Wives” community.”

“But this is all we can afford,” he pointed out. “We don’t have the money to live in a neighborhood of custom homes. I wish we could, but we can’t.”

“Then let’s just stay with your parents until we can afford something different, something better, something unqiue,” she said.

O-er……….. living with in-laws. Think I would have got my foot on the property ladder and then made my home ‘unique’.

I just want to live alone. Anything would do for my end, just the neighbourhood should be good.

I can totally understand being super picky about your first home! You wait and save for so long, you don’t want to pick the first place that you see. On the other hand, we totally kicked ourselves for letting a few pass us by in our years of house-hunting! Thank you for sharing you story with us — see you next week 🙂
