Welcome to June 3, 2018 and Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (aka, FOWC). It’s designed to fill the void after WordPress bailed on its daily one-word prompt.
I will be posting each day’s word just after midnight Pacific Time (US).
Today’s word is “skedaddle.” Write a post using that word. It can be prose, poetry, fiction, non-fiction. It can be any length. It can be just a picture or a drawing if you want. No holds barred, so to speak.
Once you are done, tag your post with #FOWC and click on the Mister Linky thingie below and then visit others who have participated.
I have to google the word first…is it a slang of some kind?

It’s not slang, just not commonly used throughout the US (and world). It’s often said to kids who are poking around where they don’t belong to get them moving. For example, “you kids better skedaddle before Miss Trunchbull finds you”

Not slang but out-of-fashion. This may help explain: https://fivedotoh.com/2018/06/03/fowc-out-of-fashion/

I guess I must really be out-of-fashion because I always tell my son to skedaddle or scoot…lol. Scram if he is really bugging me.

I’ll just take it from the top tomorrow. The fourth. Confusion is so easy and getting easier every day.
