“So why don’t you just buy a ballpoint pen and use that?” her friend Nancy asked.

“No way,” Jen said. “This pen is a true family heirloom.”

Written for this week’s Weekend Writing Prompt from Sammiscribbles. Writing a 53 word complete story is a challenge and I decided to write this one about a fountain pen, and not just about a fountain.

    Wow, 53 words…. I struggle with a 100 word limit. You did a great job.

      Yes, it is hard to write a story with a beginning, a middle, and an end in only 53 words. Glad you enjoyed it.
