Yay Me!

So Karyn, over at Karyn’s Domain nominated me (and five other bloggers) for this thing called the Liebster Award. I’m not sure who Liebster is (or was) or if the name of the award evolved as a misspelling of the word “lobster.” Hey, it’s possible. According to Karyn, the Liebster Award seeks to highlight new/newer/newish bloggers.

When I told my wife about the award, she said, “Funny, your blog doesn’t look newish.”

Okay, that was kinda sad, I know. But what are you gonna do, rescind the nomination?

Anyway, my blog is ten months old, so I wouldn’t say it’s “new,” although I suppose to some bloggers, it’s newer than their blogs, so there’s that.

So now I’m supposed to acknowledge Karyn, who honored me with this nomination. Karyn, consider yourself to be acknowledged.

I’m also supposed to answer 11 questions that Karyn asked those of us she nominated. Then I’m supposed to nominate a minimum of five other bloggers who I think are deserving of the Liebster award and ask them each 11 quesions.

Let me start by answering Karyn’s 11 questions:

#1: If you could be anywhere in the world, where would you like to be right now?
I’d probably want to be in almost any other country right now that doesn’t have Donald Trump as president.

#2. What is your favorite hobby?
Blogging, duh!

#3. Name one person you admire and why?
Barack Obama. I miss you so much, Barack.

#4. What do you hope to accomplish, if anything, from blogging?
Expressing myself in writing and have others recognize and appreciate my writing by nominating me for Liebster Awards.

#5. Name one thing that you absolutely detest.
That thing would be Donald Trump.

#6. What inspires you the most?
The idea that Robert Mueller might be able to rid this country of that thing that I absolutely detest.

#7. If you could live at any time in history, when would it be and why?
The day before the 2016 presidential election in November 2016. That was the last time I smiled.

#8 Name something on your bucket list.
To go skydiving. Ha! No way. What? Do you think I have a death wish?

#9. What do you think awaits us beyond death?
Nothing. When you’re dead, you’re dead. You cease to exist. Just like you never existed before you were born.

#10. Do you believe we, individually, have a life’s purpose?
Yes, I do. To live every day being the best person you can be, to learn, to grow, to be an inspiration to those around you, and to leave the world a better place. Are you buying that?

#11. Name a “super-power” you’d like to have.
To blink my eyes and wiggle my nose (like Barbara Eden in “I dream of Jeannie”) and to have my wishes come true. My first wish would be that Trump is found guilty of obstruction of justice and collusion with the Russians to influence the election, and to be jailed as an American traitor. Woo hoo!

So now to nominate five other relatively new bloggers:

  1. Jim over at A Unique Title for Me
  2. Michael over at Afterwards
  3. Bad Dad over at Bad Dad Cartoons
  4. Sight over at Journey
  5. Angel over at Ponytail Mama

And now to ask each of them 11 questions. For each of you I nominated, tell us 11 things that we don’t know about you and that you’d like to share with us.

Easy peasy, right?

I read that the “Liebster Award” is a prestigious recognition of blogging talent that is awarded by other bloggers and that it’s name is derived from the German word that means “beloved, or dear” in English. That is so sweet, it is almost like the blogging gods are smiling down on me and saying, “please stand up for some applause”. However, this is all too much as you already nominated me for the Unique Blogger Award back on Aug 2, 2017. Also another esteemed writer, Jina Bazzar nominated me for the Awesome Blogger Award just two months ago back on Jan 24, 2018. I feel that these blogging awards are nothing more than chain letters, basically because they keep getting passed along. Although they do promote love as the nomination usually comes from a good friend, so they should not be ignored.

They are like chain letters and there are so many of them that they can lose their meaning. But still, it’s nice when someone goes out of his or her way to throw some love on your blog.

Thank you so much for the nomination. I didn’t see any reference in your post to the cash prize associated with the award. I’ll give you my bank account number later! But actually I do feel honored that you would pick my silly post. This means more to me coming from someone who puts out interesting, clever, funny and entertaining posts!

You’re welcome. And while you’re at it, in addition to your bank account number, can I get your Social Security number, your mother’s maiden name, and the name of your first pet. Thanks.
