#JusJoJan — Once a Knight

721FB6B1-10C9-4034-8A53-EBB25E018FA4The theme for today’s Just Jot It January prompt is “knight.” It was suggested by Lita Hawk at Hawk’s Happenings.

This immediately reminded me of an old joke. Unfortunately, I can’t recall the joke itself. I can only remember the punchline:

“Once a king, always a king. But once a knight is enough.”

I think this is a joke with a sexual connotation, as in once a (k)night is enough for most men.

Reminds me of the classic… “Always be yourself, unless you can be a unicorn… Then always be a unicorn!” or the variant I like even better; “Always be yourself, unless you can be a Viking… Then always be a Viking!” LOL

There is a similar suggestion in Russell Crowe’s Robin Hood. When speaking of Marian’s late husband, he says he was a good knight, and she replies ‘Yes it was,’ then realises that it was not her wedding night that he was referring to.
