“Yes,” agreed Maggie. “He can’t walk by a mirror or a window without stopping to admire himself.”

Jenny shook her head. “He really thinks he’s God’s gift, doesn’t he?”

“He thinks he’s so cool in his designer sunglasses,” Maggie said.

“And what’s with that stupid bandanna on his head?” Jenny asked.

“Right,” said Maggie. “And the t-shirt? Seriously, guy, the sixties are calling. They want their style back.”

“But he is kinda cute,” Jenny said.

“I’d do him,” Maggie admitted.

“You’re so bad,” Jenny said. Both girls laughed.

Ha! Not my type either, but the beauty of writing flash fiction is that you can pretend to be whoever you want to be, even if that’s a different gender! It shows empathy, right?

I once pretended to be a female in an AOL chat room a few decades ago (showing my age, I guess) just to see if people responded to the same comments I made as using a female persona differently from how they responded to those comments from a male. It was a real eye opener.
