I Don’t Do Scamper

To run or go quickly. To run nimbly and usually playfully about. To run with small, quick steps.

These are just some of the definitions of the word “scamper,” which happens to be today’s one-word prompt. Each definition starts out with the words “to run.”

Because I’ve reached the age where running, scurrying, scampering, or quickly and nimbly doing much of anything physical is out-of-scope, I wasn’t going to participate in today’s prompt. I’m not a child, a rabbit, a mouse, or a squirrel. I do a lot of walking, but running, skipping, and hopping are no longer tricks I’m willing — or able — to perform.

But then I thought that explaining why I wasn’t going to respond to this prompt would make a good response to this prompt.

So there you have it!
